It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring the campus and the local community together for some fun and creativity. \nSponsor a duck\nBeginning on Monday\, 3 August\, you can sponsor a duck (one duck per person due to overwhelming demand last year) for the race by making a minimum donation of Ā£1. Sponsorships are available at the Bookshop (next to Prebend Cottage) every Friday and Saturday\, Reception (in the Vinson Building) every Monday to Thursday\, or the Students’ Union at the OTM\, all located on Hunter Street. \nEach sponsored duck comes with a card for the artwork competition\, inviting participants to get creative and design a unique drawing of a duck. Please return your drawings by Monday\, 24 August before 4.30pm to the Bookshop\, so we can get your artworks ready for the competition. They will be displayed inside the Tanlaw Mill. \nJust like last year\, the ducks used in the race will be reused to support environmental sustainability\, which means participants won’t be able to take them home. This eco-friendly initiative helps reduce waste while maintaining the fun and excitement of the event. \nTable Top Sale\nThis year we will also be bringing back the option to ā€œbuyā€ a trestle table for Ā£5. Anyone wanting a table is free to sell what they would like\, for their own charities\, or for the one we will be supporting. We have around 10 tables to sell so please do ask at the Bookshop or the Reception (in the Vinson Building) to book one. In the past we have had cake sales\, second-hand book sales\, face painting\, pottery sales\, etc. \nA memorable afternoon\nTrophies will be awarded for the fastest duck and for the best artwork in two age categories: ā€˜under 12s’ and ’12+.’ Whether you’re racing to win\, aiming to create the best design\, or just looking to enjoy a unique and enjoyable day out\, the Duck Race offers something for everyone. \nJoin us for a memorable afternoon filled with creativity\, community spirit\, and friendly competition. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this fantastic event—come make a splash and cheer on your favourite duck! \nFood and refreshments will be available from 12pm at the Tanlaw Mill Refectory\, and just like last time\, our fantastic student band will be providing the music. \nAll money raised through the sale of ducks will be donated to local charity\, Alec’s Angels.
